Search Amazon for the exact keyword followed by your ASIN, for example: stainless steel water bottle B08XXXXXXX. If your product appears, you are indexed for that phrase. If nothing comes back, you are not indexed and no amount of advertising will make you rank organically for it.
Why this test matters before anything else
Indexing is binary and it is the precondition for ranking. Sellers routinely spend months trying to rank for a phrase their listing does not contain anywhere.
Run the test in the marketplace you are targeting, not just amazon.com, since indexing differs per marketplace.
If you are not indexed
Add the phrase naturally to the title, bullets or backend search terms, then re-test after Amazon has recrawled — usually a matter of days, not hours.
Do not add it multiple times. Once indexed, repetition adds nothing and damages readability, which hurts the click-through and conversion half of ranking.
